Romans large empire started to fail because of the massive weight of the empire itself. The government started to shut down and they were losing many military battles. I do not think the United States will follow the same pattern as the Roman Empire. The United States has had a strong and influencing government for many many years. The election of Donal Trump sparked some disagreement between people but overall we are still a democratic country that is ruled by the people. Many issues like the civil rights trial and Vietnam war have come through the United States but the country survived many of these hard things. The new administration and ineffectiveness of other branches of the government have posed as issues as well but the United States has come a long way and is not close to declining like the Roman Empire did.
