Test Day

Today in class we took a quiz and did our blogs. 
Delta: where a river divides into many smaller channels 
Narmer: an ancient Egyptian king during the early dynastic period 
pharaoh: a ruler in ancient Egypt 
theocracy: a government where priests rule through the power of God 
pyramid: a royal tomb in ancient Egypt 
mummification: a process of preserving a dead body 
hieroglyphics: ancient Egyptian and other writing systems consisting of symbols and marks 
papyrus: material used by ancient Egyptians and Mediterraneans to write and make tools 
  1. The desert benefitted Egypt because it kept out invaders and prevented constant warfare. 
  2. The Egyptians viewed the Pharaoh as a God who had full responsibility for the kingdom. 
  3. Egyptians mummified bodies to preserve them for the afterlife.
